I acquired my brain injury from two car accidents approximately nine months apart in 2020 and 2021. With both accidents I experienced a concussion and whiplash which severely affected my life negatively, and consequences to these accidents changed my life for the worse ever since. It’s been challenging to say the least with ongoing vertigo, tinnitus, balance problems, sight, hearing and on and on. My life is changed with the ongoing issues that are concurrent with said accidents.

After four years of a life-changing brain injury, breathing exercises, rest and living simply helps. But changes occur everyday with new symptoms it seems, as I get older it gets worse.

Brain injuries can affect anyone on any different scale of life. Today although I’m a changed person because of my brain injury I’d like people to know I am still a person to be heard. I matter and my ongoing story I’m hoping can help someone else who also may be hiding their brain injury as I did. Never give up hope, together we can make a difference. Compassion is the key to understanding, for the next person. I for one hope becoming an advocate for all will enact change for the ongoing issues of any brain injury/disorder throughout Canada.
